This unique textured wabi-sabi vase is handmade by Anna Shipulina in her home studio in LA.

This special texture is achieved by layering various clays, including a local wild clay that gives shiny brown speckles, layers of paper, and a few different glazes. Once it was fired, the artist used a wooden hammer to reveal the texture underneath.

PLEASE note, the idea of the surface design is that a few pieces may still fall off, revealing a unique pattern. The rest will remain as is and won't continue falling off.
